Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb

2014 Edition
Having tried a Lil' Pud earlier in the week, I thought I'd indulge myself with Lush's more modernised version: the Luxury Lush Pud. Making is debut as part of the Christmas 2013 range, this ballistic is a grander, far more attractive version of its former self. In fact, it's safe to say that apart from the holly decoration on the side, this bath bomb could be sold alongside Lil Lush pud without anyone complaining of seeing double.

While Lil Lush Pud was made to resemble a traditional Christmas pudding, the Luxury Lush Pud has stepped away from this somewhat and created an original take on the classic pudding. Originally being released in purple and white, the newly  pink model sports multicoloured polka dots around the sides - making this one of the most vivid bath bombs that Lush have ever released.
It's not only the attractive design that makes this bath bomb so exciting. Sharing its scent with the famous Twilight Bath BombLuxury Lush Pud offers a delightfully strong, tonka-led fragrance for anyone that is lucky enough to be able to indulge in one. In fact, when I went into a local Lush store recently, it was this ballistic that out-shone all of the other bath products on sale. While it shares its scent with one of Lush's most popular ballistics, there is something about the design of this one that makes it that little bit more special, and worth stocking up on to see you through the rest of the year.

Although I wouldn't consider lavender to be one of my favourite scents, both this and most of the other products in the Twilight range offer a more sophisticated and slightly more mature malty fragrance. This is perhaps the  appeal for those younger consumers who would not normally consider lavender an option, and is perhaps why the shower gel sells like hot cakes in the Lush Kitchen. It is definitely very far from the pot pourri type of lavender that you expect to find in old people's homes.

Luxury Lush Pud has a rich and very creamy aroma - one that is equally warming, comforting and relaxing. Despite its spectacular array of colours, the smell of this is one that I would describe as being like sprig of freshly cut lavender floating in a river of tonka absolute. The aforementioned ingredient is definitely the strongest element to me and I find this note is stronger in this bath bomb than the original, Twilight

If you were wondering why Lush have chosen to bring out a bath bomb that shares its scent with an established product, just you wait until see what it can do in the water! This is one of those bath bombs that doesn't so much fizz as it does froth. I couldn't help but marvel when streams of pink, blue, yellow and green spilled out of the bath bomb as it frothed and fizzed on the water's surface. Luxury Lush pud really puts on a show and I'd probably rate it as one of the most entertaining bath bombs that Lush have ever released.

Although it's not the most hydrating of bath products, I was able to rectify this with some moisturiser afterwards, so this didn't at all detract from the experience of the bath bomb. As ballistics are more for show and bubble bars to add moisture, I certainly wasn't expecting it to fully replenish my skin. However, it ticked every other box for me - my only other qualm being that it's a seasonal product so will only be available to buy for a few weeks of the year.

Luxury Lush Pud is a bath bomb I recommend stocking up on; it truly is a feast for every single one of your senses and you'll regret not putting aside a few to last you the year. I'd be gutted and rather surprised if this didn't make a reappearance for the next few years, at least that's what I'm hoping for. While I was initially annoyed that Lush opted to bring it out in neon pink for 2014, I was instantly converted when this beauty hit the water. It's easily one of the most stunning displays I have ever seen a bath bomb create and has cemented itself as one of my all-time favourite bath bombs.

I would warn those of you who decide to use this bath bomb, to be mindful of putting your hand into the bath while the bath bomb is fizzing away. While taking pictures of Luxury Lush Pud in action, I found that my hand was temporarily stained pink when I removed it from the water. While it looks pretty drastic, I can assure you that it rubbed off really easily in the water and the ballistic didn't stain myself or my tub during the whole experience. However, there is always that risk that your skin may react more dramatically to this and you may be sporting the look for a good number of days afterwards.

    2. Hello, I was just wondering which temperaturae should the water have. Cause mine didn't perfomed like the demo, it broke apart very fast, and maybe it's because of the heat? I always feel a bit dissapointed because of that. Thanks!
